Yearly promise to be a better me
Time to make my yearly promise to be a better version of myself
Hi there,
With a month left of this year, I’ve fallen prey to new year goals and resolutions. I couldn’t find succinct stats, so I’ll just say this – experts claim most people don’t keep through with new year’s resolutions.
What about me? I can’t agree or disagree because I don’t remember any I set at the beginning of this year.
There was one related to fitness, one with dance, and maybe consistent writing (if there was, that became a joke).
Yet, it didn’t take much to convince me to buy a yearly planner. YES. It only took an Instagram ad of a gorgeous-looking book to convince me that I’ll finally meet this organised and more put-together version of myself in 2023.

I’m mildly amused but also glad that I still am hopeful and somehow the “new year new me” idea encourages (read manipulates) me to attempt once again.
Honestly, I’ll be happy even if I write down my goals for the year and look at them once a month. Then I can at least verify if the experts are correct in my case.
🥳 Moment to celebrate
Whether I planned it or not at the beginning of the year, I managed to improve some areas of my life this year:
Creating content – Despite my messy and chaotic process, I still managed to create a fair bit of reels on Instagram and improved the standard of it too.
Fitness – This was the year I fell in love with barre. This routine was also messy, with periods of inconsistencies. But I now understand how meditative it is when you enjoy your workouts.
Progress will be messy whether I own a pretty planner or not. I like to feel thrown off balance once in a while. It feels stimulating when I struggle to stick to my commitments but manage them somehow.
Wish you all also a year of chaotic progress. Let’s embrace the mess. 🧹
